He will lead the organization’s efforts from AO’s new Oakland office located downtown at 1111 Broadway, Suite 300.
Gomez brings more than 20 years of experience in designing and shepherding multifamily developments in California including affordable, market-rate, housing, to student and senior living communities. He is an industry leader in modular design and construction and has successfully partnered with factories in Asia, Europe, Canada and throughout the United States on projects. To date, he has permitted more than 2,500 units of factory-built housing. He is passionate about urban infill housing and always inspired by the opportunity to develop projects that contribute to the unique and complex fabric of the cities they are in.
With over 50 modular projects underway, AO is an industry leader in the design and construction of modular projects, embracing and reimagining this innovative building method. A graduate of California College of the Arts architecture program, Gomez is a native Californian and proud of his Bay Area roots. He is active in the East Bay community and serves on the Modular Building Institute (MBI) Design Professionals Advisory Council, as well as the Alameda Public Art Advisory Council (PAAC) where he completed an eight-year term.
