Drag Race UK star Le Fil releases ‘Le Filosophical (Part II)’ EP
This exciting and genre-defying EP created in collaboration with producer Lostchild, features full-length versions of songs that have so far only been heard on Le Fil’s stunning social reels. The tracklist includes the big, bold and energetic opener Alive, with the disco-tinged Yin To My Yang (that featured Drag Race UK alumni River Medway in the Family Resemblance video). This concluding EP expands the range of sounds introduced on its predecessor, most notably with Gravity – the post-Drag Race reflective mode with one of the more experimental and industrial soundscapes. The latter two songs include the politically charged punk-themed Down and Woman, which explores the fetishisation within Le Fil’s relationships.
“There’s a lot of thought behind every lyric or detail in my photos or videos. Each runway outfit really told the story, and I think a lot of that could easily be missed within the context of the show. So it was really important for me to regain control of how my artistry is presented so that I could capture, and honour, all my messages within Le Filosophical. Both these EPs really reflect this moment in time, but also have messages that are super important for our future too.”
Over the last few months, Drag Race UK provided Le Fil with a platform to showcase his many creative talents and Le Filosophical (Part II) is truly a testament to this chapter. Building on an extensive back catalogue of pop hits already, Le Fil has created a wonderfully insightful and personal body of work that will certainly attract even more fans to his legion of followers, who will no doubt help catapult Le Fil deservedly into the global pop spotlight.
Le Fil will launch Le Filosophical (Part II) on an Irish tour with club collective Mockie Ah. The tour kicks off in Cork on December 7th at Cyrus Avenue, followed by performances in Limerick and Galway.
Le Filosophical (Part II) is available to download and stream from all major platforms.
