Giulia Zompa is a last calendar year Ph.D. College student in Present-day Artwork Record at the University of Milan (Italy). Her doctoral analysis focuses on the Italian creative situation between the 1980s and 1990s taking into thought, as a situation review, what occurred at the exhibition degree in the metropolis of Milan.

Giulia accomplished her reports at the College of Florence and at the College of Milan, where she attained her BA and MA levels cum laude. Her latest interest in this new Italian art scene is similar to her master’s diploma thesis (defended in March 2020) entitled “Young Italian Artwork “in Milan (1984-1986). Her publications are devoted to those key investigation matters (Artwork of the 1980s and 1990s, history of exhibitions) but she is also really interested in the neo-avantgardes of the 1960s and 1970s. She actively collaborates with the Department of Art Heritage and Criticism at the College of Milan keeping lectures and seminars. In the course of the past several years, Giulia has also collaborated with unique galleries. In addition, from October 2021, she is the Founder and Director of Micro_Mosso, a cultural venture that shares and promotes present-day art with meetings and Instruction Lab.

As a fellow at CIMA, Giulia will aim on meaning and position of playfulness in Bruno Munari’s action. Bruno Munari has dedicated a massive part of his creative exercise to the act of actively playing: from the development of children’s games and ‘game-books’ to the development of educational workshops that put enjoying at the heart of a new system. Giulia will endeavor to trace the evolution of Munari’s strategy to the concept through his job, outlining the traits that reveal continuity and all those that sign adjust. What’s more, she will analyze the feasible cultural references that have fostered Munari’s fascination in perform and the progressive recognition of its likely social role.
