More than 150 vendors will be on hand to share their works with visitors of the 49th annual Lemonade Concert and Art Fair.
Vendors include artists who specialize in home and body care, candles, digital art, fiber, jewelry, metal work, photography and sculpture, among a multitude of other medias.
Live musicians will perform throughout the day and there will be a dozen food vendors on site.
“It’s a long-standing event that’s happened with St. Cloud State and our local community,” said Christa Hayes, director of Civic Engagement and Assessment at St. Cloud State University. “It’s almost like a bridge we want to keep upholding in our community. We just love the partnership with the City of St. Cloud and Granite City Days. We love the opportunity to open our doors on campus.”
This year’s event will tie into SCSU even further with the addition of the St. Cloud State Husky Express Science Bus. The University has a College of Science and Engineering and the bus stems from the department.
“It’s a place for kids to get some hands-on experience with engineering and science,” Hayes said. “It’s another way to incorporate the University into this community event. We really wanted to showcase something neat and unique about us.”
In addition to the opportunity to visit with all the artists during the art fair, SCSU will host a self-guided art tour of the campus. Visitors can grab a map and direct themselves to different pieces of art throughout the grounds and buildings.
Six different musicians will play live music from the World Commons Stage from Noon to 6 p.m. the day of the event. The line-up includes a Noon performance by Paul Imholte, a 1 p.m. show by the Shiver Belly Dancers and a presentation by the Pakistan Student Association at SCSU at 2 p.m. The Bar Chords will take to the stage at 3 p.m., The UnderGroove at 4 p.m. and Cassidy Ng and Willie Ng at 5 p.m.
There will be an opening ceremony for Granite City Days beginning at 7 p.m. and the concert by the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra begins at 7:30 p.m.
